Mr. Alvin Seville is an accomplished band conductor. Under the guidance of Mr. Alvin and his team of tutors, junior colleges such as Catholic Junior College and Anderson Junior College had attained Gold with Honours. He also conducts Clementi Town Secondary School and Anglo-Chinese Junior College.

Hey guys!

I know that these few weeks will be quite heavy for all of us mainly because of Common Tests. I'm sure you are all asking why Band is the only performing arts group that continues to have practice during this period.

Let me tell you this, so as not to lose your "touch" and embouchure, we need to continue practising every week. A few days of break can mean a lot to your tone. Playing a good tone takes very long and a committed member to do it.Losing a good tone takes only 2 or 3 days. I hope you guys get the point why we still continue to practise. It's all for the good of the Band.

Do continue to practise the 2 pieces. Please don't forget also to always tune using the Warm-Up Methods given by Mr Tan. They contain the important notes in Overture and Danse.Please get the tuning right before proceeding with the pieces. I'm sure if we practise diligently, we can get the medal that we want. A lot can happen in 2 months.Make it happen.

Hey people!

Band Exchange
WHERE: Regent Secondary(Regent Wind Symphony)
WHEN: 21st February 2009
TIME:around morning

As u guys know, that exchange is around 2 weeks from now and we are certainly not 100% ready.Please do practise the basic fundamentals and master Overture No.1.
As Mr Tan won't be around for the next two weeks, a guest conductor will be taking us this saturday.

Band Practice

GUEST CONDUCTOR: Mr Wong Kah Chun(composition major)
THINGS TO BRING:
-small notebook(every band member should have this)
-pen/pencil

P.S composition major means he specialises in composing and learnt the basic and advance methods in composing.He will be able to see through the lines of Overture and Danse. His advice is very important.Thats the reason why Mr Tan require everyone to bring a notebook each.

Be warned,failure to bring notebook and pen and turning up late for practice will not be tolerated!
Its a privilege that we have Mr Wong to conduct us, so do take it seriously.
